5 blogging essentials I use, and why you should too!

Itz Evin here!

This is my first post in this blog evahh and I’m VERY excited!!👏💫😂🥳🥳

And Welcome to Living The Blogging Life!! This is a new Collab blog created by Maggie and I’m so honoured (and excited🎉) to be a part of it!!! Be sure to check out all of our pages!

*throws confetti*💃💃💃

Today I’m here to share some essentials that you can use for blogging! But not the obvious ones like WordPress, or Gmail coz well DUH. we know you’re using that for Blogging 😂

Some of them you may already use, and some you could START using!

Let’s get started!

I. Grammarly.

Grammarly is VERY useful and it makes writing a post easier! There’s an autocorrect function on grammarly, so even if you type the wrong spelling, it changes into the correct one! Grammarly also makes your writing precise and it gives you the synonyms for words, so you know when to use them!

II. Bitmoji

A few bloggers I know use Bitmoji and I love seeing them! xD  With the Bitmoji chrome extension, you can customize your text on some bitmojis! I love using them✨ And, it’s also more expressive to your readers!😉😉

III. Word

Word can be used even when you’re offline, so it’s very useful!! Sometimes when I don’t have WiFi, I start typing a post on Word, then all I have to do is copy and paste it into WordPress and publish the post😁😉

IV.  Canva

Even if your not very good in graphic designing, Canva is very easy to use! There are millions of templates and graphics FOR FREE in Canva! That’s where I design all my featured images, blog buttons and some other graphics. go sign up for Canva, its definitely worth it🤩

V. Pexels // Unsplash

Pexels and Unsplash have thousands of copyright free photos that you can use! Most of the pictures I use are from Pexels. They are also SUPER high quality.

And there we go! Those are all of the essentials I use for blogging!

Do you use any of these? What are you going to start using?

Thanks for reading! hope you enjoyed 😀

And stay tuned for more!!🥳

  1. I absolutely love using Unsplash and Canva. Not always for my blog, but in general. I also use Grammarly, however, it isn’t that great. It isn’t as thorough as I’d like sometimes when I need it for professional use. For more casual use, it works fine. Thanks for sharing, Evin! I’m loving the blog guys!

  2. Great recommendations! Can you explain how to get Grammarly? Is it a plug-in or something? I always need synonyms 😅 Love the new blog, by the way! 😊👍

    • Thank a lot! Yes😄 I think you have to search “grammarly” on google, and then it takes you to the website. Thenq you install the extension. That’s how I did it. Hope this helps!
      Thank you!

  3. Nice! I use gmail, wordpress, and canva. Oh, and I use free photo websites as well. I don’t use bitmoji, because, well, I feel that it takes away the professional theme and the seriousness of certain posts. Bitmoji’s are cool, but just not for me. I mean, I know some people like them, but personally I don’t. It might be fun once in awhile, but e.v.e.r.y. s.i.n.g.l.e post, nope, no, nada, uh-uh. XD
I understand why some people like them though.
I’m sorry this is such a critical comment. I don’t mean to be rude if that is how I am coming across, I am just trying to share my opinion and insight. 🙂

  4. I never saw myself as the type to use Bitmoji. It’s just not my personality. And I have used it a grand total of once… to make this profile picture, since my readers have no idea what I look like. (I added the writing on the shirt separately.) I may also use it to cover up my face if/when I post actual pictures of myself from places I’ve been and stuff like that.

Question… if I want to make bitmojis of other people, to cover up other people’s faces in pictures for anonymity reasons, my understanding is that I would either have to make a new Google account for each person, or I would have to keep changing the bitmoji under my own account. I can’t have multiple different faces with one account. Is that correct?

  6. Great post Evin! YEAH Grammarly is really helpful! I’ve only used it like once – usually I look up the correct grammar for a post when I’m not sure (I tend to do things the old fashioned way and look them up myself 😂👍🏼) – but Grammarly is so cool!
Haha Bitmoji is fun in group chats 🥴😂 and I like seeing them in others’ posts! They add a lot of personality to writing!
I grew up using WordPerfect12, so I’m really confused by Word 🤔 the last time I tried to use it on my laptop, I wrote a 30k word draft for the first draft of a story I was working on, then when the FREE TRIAL I didn’t know was active ended, my story disappeared 😳 so now I’m scared of Word bahaha
YEAHH Canva and Unsplash and Pexels! all great choices 😍👌🏼❤️
I use Pixabay for stock photos, and Rookie, Superimpose and PicLab for making my featured images (and making the doodle pics!).
