How I Organize All of My Blogmas || The Week Before Blogmas {Day Five}

Hello and welcome back! I’m Miriam and this is my very first post on LTBL! I’m one of the newest members here and I’m overjoyed to have joined this amazing blog! For those who don’t know me, I blog on Inside Miriam’s Mind where I post a variety of topics including my faith, bullet journal spreads, lifestyle topics, and more!

Today’s post is one of my personal favorites! I’ll be sharing how I organize Blogmas on Inside Miriam’s Mind. For those of you who don’t understand the Blogmas “trend”, Blogmas is a Christmas-themed post series during the month of December leading up until the 25th (D wrote a great post about this here!). Because it’s a post every day, it needs lots of organization and preparation as to not overwhelm you and cause stress. This is just how I plan my Blogmas. If my method doesn’t work for you that’s okay and you can find a way that works well for you!

I won’t be including any screenshots because these are for my eyes only. I don’t want my Blogmas plans and surprises to be public until I post about them. I do have a Google Document template where you may customize it to your own needs. You can find it here.

When I’m planning anything I always create a Google document. You don’t need to use a Google document, you could use physical paper, a private page on your WordPress blog, or any other space that you can write and plan. I titled my Google document “Blogmas 2021”.

Once I had my document I created a numbered list where I can add Christmas-themed posts. I added about 29 post ideas. These are ideas just for Inside Miriam’s Mind, I have a separate section for other blogs, such as LTBL. I sat down and typed as many as I could. Then, throughout that week I got more ideas and typed those too. It’s better to have too many ideas than not enough.

I highly recommend writing down every idea that comes to mind. Even if you don’t believe it’ll make the final cut.

Then, I headed into Google Calendar and decided which posts I’d post on which days. At this point, I had chosen my top 25 ideas. I recommend scheduling posts based on how far out you are to Christmas. An example is a gift guide would be a much better post to read early in December, instead of the last few days leading up to Christmas because it is probable that all the shopping is done by then, and would no longer be relevant.

There aren’t many tips I can give you here, but I don’t add them for a certain time, instead, I use the all-day feature so they appear in a bold font and colored background on the calendar. For those who don’t use Google Calendar, you may not understand what I mean here, but if you do try it, you’ll know.

Next, I added what each post will include to a list. Some standard ideas are featured images, divider, sign-off, certain tags, etc. If it’s a graphic, I’d include that as well. This is custom to each blogger. I won’t be sharing mine because I’m not going to spoil mine, but I’m sure you can easily compile a list of your own.

As I’ve mentioned, I blog on multiple blogs. I have another list for posts on these blogs, such as LTBL. If you on have one blog, this is not necessary.

The last section I have is composing the steps to complete my Christmas re-design. Again, this is custom to each blogger. You need to check to see what the theme you use allows in terms of graphics and such. Choose a theme (if changing), the new graphics you’ll use and where, the text that needs to be updated, etc. If you are choosing to keep your blog design as is, no need to do so.

And that’s all! This is my overall organization’s plan for Blogmas 2021! There are a few small points I didn’t add as they’re self-explanatory if you’ve planned this far. This was extremely hard to write without sharing all the details about my Blogmas.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed it! If you have any questions, please comment below!

And, if you’re interested, you can read my Blogmas posts on my blog starting December 1st.

  1. Yaaaay Miriam!! I’m so happy you’ve joined us! 😍💙💙💙
I would honestly use GoogleDocs more often if I knew how to customize them, haha. Is it easy to add new fonts, add designs, etc? I’d love to see you do a tutorial on that if you’re familiar with customizing documents!
Yes it’s definitely better to have “too many” ideas! You can pick and choose the ones that inspire you the most, then save the ones left over for future inspiration 😍💛
Your signoff is so cute! 🥰

    • Thanks, me too!

I find it really easy to customize and I would live to write a tutorial! Great idea! *writes it down*

Yes, for sure! I actually had way more ideas this year than I thought I’d have.
